It’s how you generate a lead, and everything that happens next.

It’s how you ensure you cash-flow enough to move forward.

If you’re overwhelmed in business or not getting the results you want, it’s likely because you have not drawn out a ‘Smart’ Marketing Funnel. “

Hope all you Mother’s had a wonderful Mother’s Day yesterday.

I had a wonderful day  – church, dinner made by my sons, and a relaxing evening.

I feel so grateful that I have this wonderful life with my family.  And that I am doing things in my life that I love – music and developing my online business.  Bit by bit, I know it’s all coming together.

In my network marketing business I achieved great things over time on a part time basis…and I didn’t even have the Attraction Marketing training that I’m learning now.  So that reminds me that even greater things are possible!!

Ok, so on to my next assignment, if you will….

Creating a Static Home Page for my blog…

to give it more of a website look…

I got some pointers from my coach and also found this WordPress Tip of the Day video on creating a Static Home/Welcome Page and Blog Page (for blog posts).     I know, the lingo can get a little confusing.  But stay with me.

By the way…

I highly recommend subscribing to their daily tips for support with YOUR WordPress blog.

It was very easy to follow.

I actually had to refresh my page several times, and it was only after deactivating my theme and reactivating it…that my static page finally appeared.

It can sometimes take patience with this ‘techie stuff’…..   But I’m a mother of two boys – I’ve learned patience along the way….Lord knows.   So THIS Internet stuff, I can handle…one step at a time.

My coach gave me the following tips:

Now about the Static Home Page…

Before you create a static home page you must first have written out exactly what you want your new home page to say. This eliminates downtime as you transition from your current layout of showing blog posts ont he from page.

You will want this message to be set up as to say: “Welcome, you’re in the right place if… Here’s where you need to start and/or how to get the most out of your visit with me.”    See her site – SavvyBusinessMom.com for a GREAT example an effective welcome page.

Happy to say that I followed through and got my own static welcome/home page up.   I can always go back and tweak it later, but it has the components she talked about.    I’m learning to get things done and not worry about it being perfect from the beginning.  I can’t adequately express what an accomplishment THAT is for me….to keep my perfectionism in its place so I can keep moving forward.   HOW FREEING!!!!!!

So after I publish this post, I will see if this post goes on my Blog page as I suspect ….ur HOPE it will.

Then I need to hide the categories of my blog…or do I?   I’m talking outloud, but atleast I’m thinking about how all of this works.

I tell ya, I was talking with my childhood friend/neighbor and  Renegade Professional (Internet and Attraction Marketing Training) coaching client Rita Berry.   We both agreed that learning these Internet Marketing skills is like getting a college degree.   I’m proud of Rita and me!   We are going for it….and won’t be stopped…..can not stop!!!

Ok, enough said, let me publish this post and see what happens….

Be back later.

I’m really feeling great about the consistency and momentum I’m building.

Have a great day everyone!

Anita

It feels great to say ……

I completed my email series, created an opt in box,

and placed it HERE==> on my blog!!!

A little ways into the process, it all clicked for me….    :-) and I found myself moving through the steps at a fast pace.

It’s amazing how once you’ve done something once, it doesn’t seem hard at all.  But before, it felt like climbing a little mountain!   :)

I set up an Aweber auto-responder account, and added the email series.   Aweber has a great webinar to walk you through the set up though it’s a little fast paced.   I wasn’t able to do the steps along with the webinar, but was reassured when they said they would email me the recorded webinar to use as needed.  (I kept trying to pause the webinar, because it sounded like it was recorded…probably was, but I couldn’t pause it).

At any rate, having the recording was helpful because I WAS  able to pause it  and take things at my own pace.    I had one browser open for the webinar and an additional one for my Aweber account so I could do the steps along with the recorded webinar.  Very cool.   Very much like Renegade Professional video training.

Even though I’ve set up an email campaign through a different system in the past, this time around was totally different and more user-friendly.   Aweber was actually easier to understand because they guide you through the process with easy prompts and the webinar of course.  And before I was NOT creating my own list, but one through a network marketing company’s contact management system.  So it was not my list at all really and I was VERY limited by what I could communicate to that list.   That seems likes many moons ago now….

But back to the present….

Not even the sky is the limit NOW.    :-)

If you like this article (or any others on this site), feel free to Retweet.

See you on the inside!

I received an email from a friend of mine asking me about how Katie Freiling’s Social Media Wealth Manifesto principles can help him start a business from a scratch and make a good income online.

Though I don’t know all the detail of what Katie will be offering ultimately, I have read her content-rich manifesto.  Actually printed it out and found it to be very inspiring and informative.   Now I’m looking for the specifics of the HOW, but I guess that’s coming.  I have a general understanding of the how, and I’m open to learning from different sources, like Katie and others, and paying it forward myself.

My friend asked me if blogging was helping me and wanted more clarification on the process of making money online.

Thought I’d share my response to him with you all:

This past week has been challenging with Mama to say the least regarding her NOT wanting to go to the Jud C Hickey Adult Day (for Alzheimer’s Care).

She resisted going several times this past week. On some days I was able (along with the staff) to encourage her to get out of the car and go in (on the days I took her).  Other times she would not (especially when the transit came for her).   So she stayed home with me a few times last week.

The issue for her is, she wants to go to the regular Senior Center in general and specifically to Bingo.  But that is no longer possible for her to be there unattended, per the director. I also feel that she notices there is less independence at the Jud C Hickey center and she may also notice that people are treated differently (because everyone there has Alzheimer’s).   Now, everyone is treated with the utmost respect, it’s just that she is in a place that gives specialized care and activities for Alzheimer’s.   They have wonderful activities and have a good time.  It’s just different and she seems to prefer the other place, even though there is alot LESS to do there (Bingo was the main activity outside of the shopping trips, etc.)

This has me thinking that as far as a long term community, starting out in regular assisted living may actually be better for her and then later moving her to more specialized care (memory care/Alzheimer’s unit). This would help her adjust more because she would be with the general population of seniors and treated like a regular person, so to speak.  It will also cost less initially.  It may be better to save the specialized care (memory care) for when the disease is further progressed.

I don’t know for sure, but these are some insights I’m having just observing Mama in certain situations like how she responded to the regular senior center vs. the current Alzheimer’s adult day care program.

I’m saying GOOD riddance to Perfectionism…that quality that stops me in my tracks and prevents me from getting things done.

I just completed my email series!!

Took a little longer than I wanted, but guess what? It’s done…not perfect…but done and I’m proud of that.

Woohoo!

I know that as I proceed my writing will continue to improve.

Next I’m going to work on creating that opt-in box and setting up my email series through AWeber auto-responder.

I got my first lead the other day even without an opt in box!!!

Look out Internet world, I’m on my way!   :)

Be back soon.

Peace out!

I set a target date for this Wednesday to finish an email series to help me build my list on this blog.  After I complete the series my next task will be to create an opt in box and place it on this blog.   I look forward to attracting qualified leads.  As I’ve been told:  No opt in box = No Leads.    Makes sense.  I intend to get this done this week.

My Attraction Marketing training incubator – (Renegade Professional) has all the step by step instructions.  It’s great to have one central location for all my training.

By the way, the ideas are starting to really flow for my email series.

I really love the whole approach with Attraction Marketing because it focuses on giving and serving others FIRST.  This draws people to YOU.   Makes perfect sense to me.

I actually first wrote an email series previously for a network marketing business opportunity.  I attempted to educate my prospects about attraction marketing but it was flawed from the beginning unfortunately because, due to company policy I couldn’t offer them the very training that would help them succeed.   At best I could only refer to the concepts, but couldn’t outright share them and any of my affiliate links.

That’s all a moot point now anyway, as I have made the choice to explore my options and expand the concept of what “my business” is anyway.

The good thing is, it gave me a little experience with writing an email series.  No good effort goes to waste.

Onward and upwards….

Stay tuned for the next update on my email series and more!

12 Apr 2010 My Caregiving Journey »

It’s been a few days since my last post.  We’re just coming off a relaxing Spring Break.

Here’s an update from this past week…..

Mama wanted to attend the Columbia County Senior center for Bingo on Wednesday of last week (this is the center she was going to initially before Jud C Hickey Center for Alzheimer’s Care).  She was very adamant in stating that she would NOT be going to Jud C Hickey.  Even though she really enjoys Jud C Hickey, she misses the joy of picking out bingo prizes, putting them on the table, and watching others enjoy her prizes when they win and pick them.   At Jud C Hickey, the prizes are already provided for everyone, and usually are stuffed animals (which she does like too, but it’s just different).

Since she was so adamant about NOT going to Jud C Hickey (and this has been happening more frequently), I called the Columbia County Senior Center to leave a message with the director asking if Mama could simply attend on their Bingo days (Monday and Wednesday).  Thought this would give Mama what she wanted and make her more willing to go to Jud C Hickey on the other days.

Last night I attended a wonderful program by my local Alzheimer’s Association called “Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementias:  “A Family Affair”. The speakers were Frank Broyles:  Coach, Spouse, Father, Caregiver and writer of the “Coach Broyles Playbook for Alzheimer’s Caregivers” and his daughter Betsy, and granddaughter Molly.

I laughed, cried, and had some ‘a ha’ moments during the 2 hours they spoke so passionately about their journey of caregiving for the matriach of the family, their beloved Barbara.

Well something is clicking for me because I have a renewed zest about all things internet marketing.  I am truly grateful to Malika Duke for reaching out to me the other day.

I realize that I was in too much of a hurry to properly focus and follow through consistently with the actions that will lead to producing the results I want.

So now, my MO is:

Each day plan my work and work my plan.

And “the plan” will be little specific and measurable bite size steps like the ones I accomplished today:

1.   Apply for a Commission Junction publisher account and set up my GoDaddy affiliate account through them, as instructed through my Renegade Professional backoffice -  a  place to learn with 300+ step by step video tutorials on all things internet marketing….  DONE

2.  Place my GoDaddy affiliate link and banner on this blog (on Home and Recommend Resources Pages)…  DONE

3.  Add a “My Caregiving Journey” category to this blog (Attraction Marketing Journey) and link to my Caregiver Blog…  DONE.

NOTE: I got 2 TWEETS on my blog entry about my caregiver blog within an hour of posting! This is further confirmation of Malika said about people  noticing what I’m doing and saying.   This feels really GOOD!!!  :-)

4.  Blog about what I’ve done and how I feel about it and this journey…..   DOING  and DONE.

I affirm:  I give myself permission to be all I can be.   I give myself permission to live passionate and free. (Thanks Karen Drucker)…..LOVE her music)
