Sharing our Passions and Prospering Online…Together

27 April 2010

I received an email from a friend of mine asking me about how Katie Freiling’s Social Media Wealth Manifesto principles can help him start a business from a scratch and make a good income online.

Though I don’t know all the detail of what Katie will be offering ultimately, I have read her content-rich manifesto.  Actually printed it out and found it to be very inspiring and informative.   Now I’m looking for the specifics of the HOW, but I guess that’s coming.  I have a general understanding of the how, and I’m open to learning from different sources, like Katie and others, and paying it forward myself.

My friend asked me if blogging was helping me and wanted more clarification on the process of making money online.

Thought I’d share my response to him with you all:

Yes, the blogging is helping me.  I am establishing my brand online, creating content, giving value.   I literally got started recently with any type of consistency.  Now that I’m working consistently I fully intend to keep it going.  There are several pieces that need to be put together to have it all working.  Once I do, the income I desire will surely come over time.  There is too much evidence of others who are further along on this same path who are creating multiple streams of income for me to doubt it.   But it is a skill set that must be learned and it requires learning and application…consistently to see results.

Here’s the general process of line marketing no matter which particular methods one uses:

I referred to (SBI!!)Site Build It! process of  C T P M because it explains it so well (I’ve added in my own comments too):

1.  Content

Web users search for information, for solutions. They are not looking for you – they don’t know you (yet!) until you’ve really established yourself online. They seek what you know. Give it to them. Convert your knowledge into in-demand Content. To succeed online, start where they start – at “the search.” (I will add to this, that social media (Twitter, Facebook) in addition to the search engines is another great place people look for info and share info, and make connections with each other, as well as social networking sites, etc.

It’s important to have a blog to serve as the hub for your all of your social media content. You can funnel all of your content throughout the Internet to link to your blog, as well as have content on the blog of course.

2.  Traffic

Your topical content ranks high at the Search Engines as well as comes from social media sites or anywhere else you post your valuable content on the Internet, etc.   This attracts free, targeted (i.e., interested), open-to-you visitors. Basically, these future customers “meet you” at your site. These visitors are known as “Traffic.”

This helps you get a following of people who come to your main hub (blog or website).  The goal is to give them enough value content upfront that they are willing to opt in to your email list to receive more info (I’m working diligently on getting an opt in box on this blog!!!)

By building your list, you are continuing to build your following because you can then continue to establish your relationship with that list, trust, and credibility, and offer them more valuable content, and ultimately your products, services, and opportunities (this is Monetization, but this comes last….see below)

3.  PREsell
Complete strangers develop trust and confidence in you. Why? You “PREsell” by OVERdelivering what they seek… relevant, original, information.  Or they could also to come by way of recommendation from someone else they know online.

(From what I can tell, Katie Freiling is going to launch a “Unified Tribe” to help Internt entrepreneurs network and support each other with promoting their individual brands and distributing each others’ content to help everyone grow exponentially, as well as provide training and other resources.)

Okay, back to “PREsell”…..

It’s also about completely being yourself, speaking powerfully in your own voice so people get to know, like, and trust your leadership.

(By the way, immediate “selling” on is ineffective unless you have a brand like Amazon.) Nobody likes to be “sold”.     And unfortunately many people online start by trying to ‘get’ the sale online first without ever giving value first.   Simply doesn’t work.   So this professional process is not for the short term, quick buck thinker.   It’s for someone who is willing to learn what the major league marketers know and for someone willing to come from an abundance mindset….giving first.

4.  Monetize
Convert warm, willing-to-buy (“PREsold”) visitors into income. Called “Monetizing,” this is the easy part. But “M” cannot happen if you fail to first execute C T P. This is where 99% of small businesses fail.    For example, established a loyal following who benefit from your valuable content and you could latter systematically introduce them to your latest offer (people do this with the upcoming launch of their book all the time), and they will buy from you on the launch date.

Now, if don’t know what your focus will be, it’s all about:

  1. Identifying your passions
  2. Identifying your target market
  3. Selecting a specific niche (focus) for that target market that is in high demand and has a lower supply
  4. Then start systematically structuring your business using training and tools that helps you put the pieces of a marketing funnel together (see my training source below).
  5. It also helps to have a go to person or coach to answer questions along the way.  I’m learning as I go and I’m able to share/teach as I learn (and I have a go to coach as well).  It’s a beautiful thing.

So Katie’s Social Media Wealth Manifesto is outlining her specific process which focuses on Social Media, which actually incorporates the above principles and is adding the component of collaboration through riding this wave of the New Social Media Economy (as she calls it) together.

She quoted on one of her videos:   “A rising tide floats all boats.”     So true, and I really like that.

I look forward to seeing more about what Katie and her tribe will offer and how I can participate.  Then I can decide if this is something I want to be a part of or not.  So far, it it definitely seems to make sense and I feel good in my spirit based on what I see and hear from Katie thus far.

In the meantime, I’m continuing to greatly benefit from Renegade Professional training as I continue taking action to implement what I’m learning.  I feel that everything prepares us for the next step anyway, so it’s all relevant.

Here’s the link to the free portion of the training (Renegade University)

Renegade Professional (the paid/upgrade “graduate level” training offers a 30 day trial and later costs $49.95 per month.   It has over 40+ multiple streams of incomes connected through it with affiliate programs for the tools you can use and then offer to others on your site, including an affiliate program for the training itself.    So it’s designed to give you the training you need to apply to building your business online, while helping you earn income to fund your business along the way.

****NOTE: Even though the focus is on network marketing, the information can be applied to ANY type of online business.  Please keep that in mind.

Let me know if you have any questions or want to talk about this.

Until next time…

Anita
